Went to KLCC this morning...
Had to search for books in Kinokuniya... ( is that how you spell it??? )
Anyways... Found what I was looking for and so did my Bro,
Then we headed to Genki Sushi, for lunch, at 11.30 am !!!!
A little too early, but we had to leave before 1.00 pm so we had sushi there...
I wasn't a big fan of sushi before this, but the place was just great !!!!
I loved the food there...
I couldn't stop munching on the Lotus Dessert Ball, the Grilled Salmon and the Beancurd Rolls... ( yes, they were kinda sweet... but still tasty !!! )
In short = It was heaven!!!

After SOOOOOOO many months of trying to change the layout of my bloggy...
I have finally come to accept the fact that I'll never be able to do so...
Why???
I'm super-JINXED when it comes to changing layouts...!!!
Everytime I spot a cool template for my Blog... it will either be...

a. I don't know how to change it ( earlier months of blogging... )
b. I can't download the God-forsaken template, or
c. an earthquake just happened in Taiwan causing my whole internet access to shatter !!!

Plus, I've learn to accept the fact that It's not how COOL your blog looks ( although... it would be nice to look at, instead of the usual blogspot templates... urghhh... ), but how COOL your posts are...

So, I've given up entirely on trying to change the LOOK of my blog...

Ate our 'usual' 'Ayam masak kacang', 'Daging dendeng', 'ketupat', 'lemang', Ayam masak merah' and the cake Dena got me for Christmas... ( Thanks Dena !!! And I can assure you, there was just enough Brandy in it... a little more, and I might actually experience my first hangover !!! )

Went to Granny's...
Ate 3 different cakes... Cheese, Chocolate and a Raya-Fruit cake ( minus the Brandy !!! )

Went to my Grand aunt's place...

Went home and continued eating...

Just got back from Melaka...
I swear, I could have died of boredom...
Grew fat...

Currently, I'm indulging on the masterpiece " Everyone worth knowing" by Lauren Weisberger ( The same author of the book The devil wears Prada )
Simply orgasmic !!!
I couldn't put the book down the moment I read the first page...
I'm almost done with it ( hopefully by today !!! ) and the minute I am, I'm heading to MPH to scout for more of her books... ( that lady is simply a GENIUS !!! )
The storyline was fast pace, but it was equally addictive...

A life-altering decision...

Another post on the same day....???
Well, I had to... cause I just remembered something urgent...
Last week, after the dinner at Chili's, I made a huge life-altering decision...
I was going to be a vegetarian for life... ( but still hanging on to egg, cause I needed the protein to sustain )
It lasted for a week... an finally ended, well, yesterday after much deliberation...
It wasn't due to temptation that I decided to stop... ( although the chicken yesterday was heavenly, sim and kube... )
It was due to health reasons...
The whole vegan idea was initially also due to health reasons ( which I shall not explain further... only my parents and I know the true reasons... )
Ironically, though, things took a turn for the worst the last 2 days...
I was constantly dizzy and nauseous... and felt terribly weak...
On top of that, I was losing weight like crazy !!!
ALL IN ONE WEEK !!!
So... now... it's final... I WONT BE A VEGAN...
Instead, I chose to retain my former eating and dietary habits, albeit a bit more controlled...
I wouldn't say that the whole vegan experience was a bad one...
Now, I have a new found respect for vegetables ( which I lacked before... )
So... Brana, Sim and Kube... thanks for advising me throughout the week ( even if most of the advises were small ones, they were meaningful nonetheless... )
So... anyone up for chicken ??? :-P

A sudden thought...

Yesterday was simply great...
We kidnapped Gurdip and had the best time of our lives...
Pity though, Brana and Bryan couldn't stay longer for the actual party and Dena couldn't make it...
What I truly enjoyed during the whole party yesterday...
Finally being given the chance to meet old friends...
Most would argue that friends come and go, and those you meet in school or college tend to fade away from your lives as you get older...
It was satisfying to prove this whole thought wrong...
It's been almost 6 months since I last saw Liwina, Dharmik, Jesreen and Parisha...
Simitha, Kube, Dena and Ranpreet were the brains behind the party and without them, well, there wouldn't be any party at all !!!
It has never crossed my mind on whether I would actually really miss the people in Bangsar once I leave ( if I leave that is... ) for UK...
Now I'm 100% convinced...
Without them, my life would have been totally different ( not sure for the better or worse though :-P )...
But I would not trade my life for anything else on this planet !!!

Yesterday was fun !!!
The whole family went shopping at Lot 10 and Sungei Wang Plaza...
It's been a while... and THE SALES ARE HERE !!!
Had blast going through stuff here and there...
However, parking there was just NUTS !!!
Explains why people love using the LRT instead of driving...
Went round tasting free samples of food to...
Simply loved the cheese tart... but it was bloody expensive for such a mini-sized tart...

Later, Ju, Ran ,Vicki and I went for the HELP institute annual play...
The theme was language, so they decided to perform Arabian Nights, English Made Easy and The Lesson...
I had never heard of any of them... but I found the first one the most interesting...
The, we sort of had dinner in McD's... until Vicki had to be a party-pooper and ruin everything...
and that was how the day ended...
Fun right??? Urgh... but it was nice to finally meet up with Ju and Ranpreet... it's been a while...
Oh...
It's been one week since the holz started... and I haven't done half the things I was planning to do !!!

Yesterday... I finally found the time to hang out with my old buddies !!!
Brana, Sim, Kube and ( the EXTREMELY PUNCTUAL ) Dena...
Had Chili's ( where else !!! )... I opted for something different this time...
A little out of the ordinary`you might say...
I had the Chili's Monterey Chicken...
Chicken breast deliciously covered with cheese and tomato cubes...
Together with strips of bacon... served with mash potatoes and fresh vegetables...
Simply HEAVEN !!!
Then, I had their fabulous Sundae Brownie...
What a way to end dinner...

Sim, Brana and I went for a late movie...
The first show that popped into my mind was 'Cinta'...
The reviews on the film were great... and Brana wanted to watch it to...
So the 12.20 am movie, it was...
While waiting... we had the XXL Chup Chup lollipop which I had never tasted...
OH MY GOD... IT WAS GOOD... but the price... RM3 !!! But, then again... IT WAS DAMN GOOD!!!

Sim and I had caramel popcorn and Brana had the salted ones... ( WHO THE HELL EATS SALTED POPCORN ??? )
Then the movie started...
All I have to say is... WOW !!!
Although it reminds me a lot of the British movie 'Love Actually'... The story plot was very Malaysian... And very romantic indeed...
The most touching love stories were the one between Fatimah Abu Bakar and Dato Rahim Razali as well as the one involving Rashidi Ishak and Rita Rudaini...

I was glued to the screen everytime Mak Rubi and Cikgu Elyas appeared... It was so heart wrenching to finnaly discover the truth about the old guy... Damn Alzheimer !!!

Rashidi Ishak has always been a fav actor of mine ever since Mimpi Moon... This time he simply blew me away with his performance... Rita Rudaini was not bad either...
Imagine loving someone for so many years ( in his case, since he was 18... ) and finally being told that SHE loves you not as a lover, but more as a brother of sorts... WTF right???

I found Eizlan Yusof's love story a little cliche... I expected more from Fasha. He said he didn't love you in public... so why bother being with him... He was a jackass !!!

Although I'm super-duper avid fan of Sharifah Amani... I actually thought that her portion of the movie together with Pierre a little wierd... Innocent and cute... but weird...

Then, there was the sibling love part of the story... not too bad actually... kinda sad and there was so much truth in the character played byNanu... A businesswomen who acts like she doesn't want to build a family but gets involves with a married man, so usual !!!

It was during yesterday's dinner...
We had home-cooked food ( at last !!! ), and after that my sis was helping my mum with the dishes...
All of a sudden, came this itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny mosquito out of nowhere and it landed directly on my mums forehead...
Being my sis, who is SUPER DUPER afraid of creepy-crawleys and their couterparts, she literally SMACKED my mum on the forehead !!!
I repeat : SHE SMACKED MY MUM ON THE FOREHEAD !!!
How cool is that ???
You betcha sweetpatooties my mum was furious to the max !!!
My sisters excuse : " The thing could have caused a lot of pain and suffering to you. You should be super thankful ! "

My top 5 :

1. Sri Pandi's in PJ : Great food. I was introduced to the place by Simitha and Mithra. Food there was spectacular... though it tends to be overcrowded at times. It became famous for the wrong reasons after this year's Deepavali ( Remember the Deepavali Petronas ad??? ).Food is always served hot and spicy... just how I like it !!!

2. Nirwana Maju, Bangsar : Me and my friends are regular patrons there. Food is great. Curry cukup pedas, and the price cukup reasonable. Plus, with the new Bangsar Village 2 which will be opening soon ( 25th Dec), the place is surely gonna be pack with customers 24/7. Also,it's a great place to have a cup of Teh Tarik after clubbing in Bangsar ( well, that's what I heard la... ). I love the fish cutlet there !!!

3. Kanna, PJ : Great food, but the vegetables a teeny bit disappointing... Nevertheless one of my favourite banana leaf in PJ... And the waiters are extremely friendly !!!

4. Jothi, KK : For those of you who are unaware... I was living in Sabah for 3 1/2 years before returning back to KL... One of the 2 outlets in KK serving Banana Leaf, this is the best and I believe is far better than most of the other retaurants in KL even... The owner is from Perak ( a really nice guy!!! )... When my family members and I dine there, these are our staple orders : Chilli Chicken ( dry ), Sambal Prawn, Masala Fish, and either fish cutlet or sotong goreng...

5. Krishnan, PJ : My mom's favourite. I only enjoy the fish cutlet there because it's different... to me... the non-banana leaf options there are better ( the tosai are to die for !!! )... Must orders would be the earliermentioned fish cutlet and claypot lamb/chicken... The appam is not to bad either

I'm currently in Melaka searching for the best chicken rice...

I'm dedicating this whole post to Mithra...
Yes, Mithra... the one who left for Bandung and, thankfully, returned home, still an Indian...

Visited her on Deepavali night... She slimmed down a lot, and I mean A LOT !!! ( just like what you wanted me to post... )
Her mum was nice to. She was the first ever to give me Duit Deepavali ( What should I call it eh??? )...
Then, it started to rain... and Mithra fell... and her hand was in pain... and she cried... she cried like a baby... ok ok.. so she didn't cry... she laughed... but it was painfull nonetheless...
Then we went to Dena's house... and instead of playing Pictionary with the rest of us... the big baby slept...

Well... that about sums up Mithra's first day back in Bangsar...
Now, where did I put her request letter... ah.. here it is...

Boy, did I enjoy this raya !!!
And it wasn't because of the food or anything... ( and there was nothing to celebrate about the duit raya this year... !!! EKONOMI MEROSOT it seems... :-( )
Looking at everyone's faces the moment I stepped in my aunt's house...
I swear... jaws were literally dropping to the gound...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

And in 10 minutes... I'll be heading to Melaka... to visit my mum's side of the family ( yes, yes... they're chinese, but that doesn't mean they can't join in the festivities !!! )

Can't wait to see they're reaction next !!!

The HOLZ have finnaly arrived...
Just got back from Batam two days ago, really tired... but had tons of fun there...
Who knew hanging out with my seniors would be so much fun !!!
Didn't get the chance to go shopping... Hectic schedule...
Went out with Nish, Julian, Brana, Ryan and a friend of thiers yesterday...
Nice to finally meet up with Ryan... and Nish...
Went to Ali Maju ( From all the places that existed on this fine planet )... Had ice cream goreng... pretty much sucked !!!
Went to watch a movie today... World Trade Centre...
Peice of advice... DONT GO WATCH IT !!!!
BORING !!!!!!!!! It revolves around 2 guys.... trapped under rubbles and rocks... and how people were attempting to pull them out...
DRAGGY and STUPID.... !!!!
Then went for dinner at Pizza Hut... and later to Vicki's... coz it was her bday on the 13th...
Suprised that she still remembers me... since it's been 3 months since I saw her...
Well... it's only the beginning of the holz....

Going back to Banting today... super tired after staying up to 2 at Brana's... played 'The Game of Life'... Gurdip actually won without being there... ( she was there physically... but mentally... was in the heavens with God-knows-who !!! )
Can't wait for the week after next...

A lot of things happened throughout the week...
The Education ministry blasting the Higher Education Deputy Minister...

Dr. M blaming his lost in Kubang Pasu on bribery...

An american guy representing his embassy being bombarded with tons of questions during a talk he gave in my college...

International Fair was on throughout the week...
I totally embarassed myself on Monday...
I had to act as an Indian father, an american 70's disco freak and a chinese 'apek' in a drama presentation... all in the name of MPAC...
The international Food Competition was great ( especially for us people who were simply standing around... ). The minute the judges were with each food, people would start scrambling to stalls just to get a ( really BIG ) bite of each food competing... I simply loved the American food... Chicken Parmesan... Mmmmm....
Then, we had a very special guest from the USA embassy... who was there to talk about his country's foreign policies...
Unfortunately though... the minute Q & A session started, people were spitting questions on him about Iran, Iraq and Lebanon, and how America could simply stand there and do nothing useful to stop the war in Lebanon, eventhough they take great pride of their democracy, justice and all the positive values that they wish to uphold... This shows that Malaysians ( specifically KMBians... ) were really narrow-minded. When asked about the number of people who believed everything in the 911 reopen movie, a huge majority of students had their hands up in the air... The students did not realise that every action that they had potrayed during that session was simply a reflection of their intelligence... Aside from tarnishing the college's name, people will satrt to believe that the college has actually become a hub for students to learn about terrorism... I'm not saying that what the students did was wrong because that's how they feel about the whole situation in Lebanon where their religion has been under extreme amount of pressure and has become synonymous with the word 'terrorism'. We should never be hypocritical on our beliefs and faith in something... but we must also show courtesy. The American was invited, and he willigly came. I bet that if given a choice, he wouldn't even dream of coming to my college in the first place. He knows that people like him are what students in my college have for breakfast, lunch and dinner....
So... as you can see... I don't really like my college. In fact, frankly, I HATE IT !!! But I do love the IB programe... So there's nothing much I can do, other than to sit still and enjoy a 2 year long ride !!!

Bonjour !!! ( note : this post was written 1.21 am, so technically it's in the morning !!! )
It's been so long since I've last updated...
So... how's life been treating me ???
Well... I can't really complain that much...
My father's birthday was last Tuesday... and I was in college at that time... but no matter... we celebrated it again yesterday...
International Fair is coming up... The whole school is going haywire over their respective preparations...
Puasa is just a few weeks away... Can't wait !!!
Then, Raya holidays will follow soon enough... a well-deserved 3 week break that I need so, so much...
Went for a garage sale, again ( I go very often... to find books )... found Pet Semetry by Stephen King and got it for RM3...
Havn't been studying much either... too pre-occupied with all the activities around campus...
UPSR is over... hopefully my fellow adik-adiks in SK Dengkil ( the school where I perform my charity work ) did very well... will be meeting up with them on Tuesday...
Well.. that sums up my post... nothing much really...
Oh wait... and I believe that Dr. M should not contest for Kubang Pasu at all !!!
Dr. M was and will always be the epitome of greed la... His reign was over a long time ago.. and yet he refuses to let Pak Lah run the country... !!! It proves that power tends to corrupt... and once you've lost it, you will tend to 'work hard' to attain it back...
And what do you guys think of this year's budget???
In my oppinion... the whole 'scholarship for 10a1 students with parents earning less than RM1000' is a great move... the whole idea of a scholarship anyways is to help those who are needy, poor and cannot afford tertiery studies. Unfortunately, the increase on sin tax this year is kinda dissapointing la... 1 sen for 1 ciggarete ??? not much of a different eh?
And the long-awaited abolishment of the SPM,PMR and UPSR fees has finnaly come true !!! albeit a little too late... but BETTER LATE THAN NEVER !!!
Oh and the new Evanescence's song ( Call me when your sober ) is freakin cool !!!

Before I start, this is the guy who got BOOed in Bangsar... !!!

Hee hee....

OK, so I'm back from Banting... And this is the first time i've been online since two weeks !!! A lot of things happened throughout my stay there...

1. I've got a SUCKY room-mate !!! ( hope he doesn't blog !!! ). He's SOOO rude.... Whenever I ask him something, he'll just go 'yeah' or 'emmm' or 'no'.... So... cause of that, i've decided to use my room only for sleeping purposes... The less I see his face, the better my life !!!

2. I'm official member of the PBSM..... Persatuan Balik Setiap Minggu !!! I just can't stand hostel life... It's nice and all... but I just miss home... The bathrooms are ( suprisingly ) ok... and the food to... ( although they should think of variety, not quatity !!! ). During the first week ( orientation and all... ) we were not allow to return home during the weekends... However.... I was just SOOOO homesick that I insisted ( well, threatened actually ) my dad to bring me home !!! It was either that, or I run... as in escape the bloody college !!! So... at last, i managed to return home just for a while....

3. I met so many friends !!!! I knew at least 6 of them before i came to KMB.... Most of the guys and girls are from MRSM... and most are MARA scholars...

4. Books are so scarce here !!!! Its so hard to get photostated references !!! but I'll be getting mine by the week after next.... hopefully !!!

5. Oh... Nik, you were talking about a neurotic Chem teacher... well... he actually exists !!! He give sstudents 20 pages of homework in the first week !!!! Thank God I didn't get him !!!

6. The subjects I'm taking.... Chem, Bio, Pure Maths and Stats, English, BM lit and Economics... aside from Theory of Knowledge ( TOK ), External Essays ( 4000-5000 words), Internal Assestments and Agama !!!! AH !!!!!!!!! AGAMA !!!!!!!!!!!! AH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7. CAS is so fun.... The whole idea behind IB is not studying. It's more on doing services to the public... and cocuricculur activites.... We have a whole day to do those kinda stuff.... And our syllabus is relatively easier compared to A-levels... so no complaints here !!!

Well... thats about it....my next post... hmmm... give me a week.... hee hee

Squirells....

There were three churches in a village. One day, there was a squirell overrun in the village and they started to pile up in all three churches.

The priest of the first church tried chasing all the squirells out, because he believed that killing them would be a sin. So he put up squirell traps all around and finnaly threw them in a secluded place out of the village. Unfortunately, it didn't work and the squirells were back again.

The second priest tried killing them with a rifle because he believed that that was the only way to get rid of them before they stop the villagers from attending church. Unfortunately, for every dead squirell, 5 new ones would appear.

The final priest, after learning the mistakes of his comrades, decided to take things into his own hands.

He BAPTISED each squirell. Now they only appear for Easter and Christmas each year.

My second book review...
Hmmm....
The book... Dark City... and I'm particularly proud of this one...
Written by a M'sian who goes under the pseudonym of Xeus...
It comprises of 12 different stories... sharing a similar theme... which is...
HOW PSYCHO THIS WORLD CAN BE !!!
It's first short-story says it all... Psychotic tells about a young woman, who was waylaid in a dark alley by a serial rapist. So the question is does she stay alive??? Or... is there something else about the story ( I would definately suspect the latter... ). Every story tends to bring out the same feeling within all it's readers...
At first, people will be thinking that each plot are extremely cliche... but by the middle part of each story, things take a twist... and each ending is definately unexpected !!!
Some of the stories, though, are only suitable for the upper-aged class of readers...
To many 'things' are written extremely in detail...
It took me aproximately 2 days to finish this 353 paged book...

Ok... so here's a list of stories in the book and a brief synopsis about each of them...

1. Psychotic : A woman struggles for dear life when she is abducted and raped... but does she make it out alive.. or is there more to this story....???

2.Trashcan Child : A lady takes in a trashcan child and treats her as her own... eventhough she had solemnly swore before that she would never have children... Will this baby change her mind??

3.One if by land : Prison inmates are dropping like flies and it's up to a sole newcomer to get to the bottom of things... But who's killikg all the inmates, one at a time??? The wardens??? The doctors??? Hmmm...

4.Session One : A wife struggles to keep her marriage intact, eventhough she's well aware that her husband has been cheating on her ( with her best friend !!! ). Will her therapy sessions help??

5.The scarlet women : A horny 16 year old finnaly gets to live his dream ( and a shallow one, I might add... ) of hiring a prostitute... but does everything go according to plan???

6.The six million dollar man : Who would be a prime suspect for your murder... a. your beautiful, extremely-nice-to-you-for-your-money wife; b. your 'I wanna be a chef and not go to Cambridge and you can't make me' son, whom you refuse to pay for his education other than the unversities you've chosen for him; c. your mistress, who's also a gold-digger; d. your not-so satisfied body guard, whom you last threw his cousin into jail for delibrately saving your life; or e. your business partner, who's all out to grab your business away from you... It's hard being rich !!!

7. Coup of the century : It's a dog-eats-dog world out there.. so you better watch your back... Tells about two rivals desperately trying to beat each other in a bid to own a Doberman...

8. The resistance : A lady forsees a deadly terrorist attack... but who would believe her... or will she be too late... ( This is the only sub-par story among the others... )

9. The maid : A cleaver in her hand... and a dead maid on the floor smothered in blood... Who killed the maid on the kitchen floor??? The housewife killed the maid on the kitchen floor... who she... yes she... couldn't be... but it's TRUE !!! ( insert music for the song ' Who took the cookie from the cookie jar...' )

10. Grave error : What if, one day, you wake up and suddenly find yourself in your own grave??? What would you do??? Who, do you think did this to you??? Are you really DEAD ???

11. Incident at Monkey Gorge : Three suspects. All girls. All related to the murdered in differnet ways. All of them were there when he died. Question : Who killed him and who's telling the truth??? Or is there more than meets the eye ?

12. Monster : Which is worst : A kid who gives both his parents tons of problems and is extremely ill-disciplined, a father who tries desperately to teach his kid a lesson and finnaly resorting to the help of kidnappers, or kidnappers who take things into their own hands and keep the kid to themselves for other 'purposes'???

According to the author, of these twelve, two are based on urban legends, one is a tribute to Edgar Allen Poe and the other nine are made up.... so which is which???

Read and decide for yourself...
But, I can gurantee you that it's worth every cent you spend on it... ( RM 29.90 )
Plus, it's Malaysian !!! The stories are closely related to our everyday life... all our miseries and sorrows...
Out of 5 ... it'd give it a 3.5 ....
But that's just me...

( P.S. I tried retrieving the front cover of the book... but unfortunately, I couldn't find it... It was, however, previewed in The Star newspaper twice in the past 2 months...)

The food was SOOOOO good.... and so was the 'dancing' ( Note: it was more like moving front and back, then left and right, compared to dancing... )

Next... AH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the 27th is so damn close !!! And my tummy's not gone yet....
I have approximately 16 more days to complete my mission... so pray hard for me... Die, Tummy !!! Die !!!

And finnaly... AH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the 27th is SO DAMN CLOSE !!! I'll be leaving you guys... for Banting... and I won't be back over the weekends. According to the KMB officials, as long as there's no activities throughout the weekends, I was allowed to return home... but... MY GOD !!! It's Banting... who the hell is gonna pick me up??? The price of petroleum is up by 30 cents... At the very least... I know some friends who are gonna be there... so... no biggie in the making friends department... First and foremost... I own a bloody guitar, but I don't know how to play it.... !!! And it seriously needs re-tuning.... cause everytime I stroke it... A sound more terrifying than William Hung's singing just start filling up the environment around me !!!

Now... I know I havn't been updating my blog recently.... but that's just because there's nothing for me to say... ( which is a really, really rare and awkward !!! )

Well... I'll be leaving for Banting in exactly 20 more days.... and I've seen the place while on the way to PD for a hoilday...

OH MY GOD !!!

It's so deserted !!! the nearest Mamak stall is 5 km away !!! I didn't get a chance to see the 'insides' of the college though... because the guards said we needed special permission to do so... but judging from the outside... AH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'll be there for 2 years.... 2 freaking years !!!

PD was fun... but It wasn't the same like before... small chalets serving traditional Hainannese and Hailam food were nowhere to be found... A decent breakfast spot was so hard to spot... All that was left were Malay-Thai food stalls and Mamak stalls ( which KL is all flooded with )...

And the beach condition was SOOO BAD, that I felt like sheding a tear for each rubbish i spotted while walking along it ( which amounted to buckets and buckets of tears.... )

We did manage to find a great dinner spot... serving good seafood... The chilli crabs were to die for !!!

Well... that's about it... that's how i spent my hoildays ( well, technically, it's not mine, cause everyday's a Sunday for me !!! hee hee... ).

Oh and another thing..... please read 'Freakonomics'... and to make it really clear... the book is nothing about economics... well it is, in a way... but it's really about an economists and his points of view about everyday things...

for example... They talk about how names actually determine your outcome in an interview... and how genes play an important part in developing a child...

It is believed that a child's character is 50% determined by his/her parent genes...

They had two groups ( let's name them A and B ), where A = who parents are ( meaning their background, socioeconomic status, race, religion, character) and B = what parents do ( meaning what parents do to 'improve' their child's progress... like sending them to PRE-pre-school, giving them piano lessons at the tender age of 2... etc... )

A study showed that only things in group A determined the outcome of one's child... and B doesn't help in any way...

Trust me... It's a GREAT book...

Out of 5... I'd give it a 4...

The only downside... it cost RM35++ for such a small book (200+ pages only)

So my advise... borrow...

Of all the words in the English language, one of the most useful and yet most controversial is the word FUCK. Strangely, there are hundreds and even thousands of words in the English dictionary, and yet FUCK is the only word that is referred to as the ‘F’ word. It truly is a very magical word, because not all words can mean two very opposite things at the same time.
The word FUCK can actually connote both pleasure and pain, or both love and hate at the same time, and in rare occasions, even in the same sentence! Unknown to many, the word FUCK is actually a German derivative of the word “Frichen”, which means “to strike”... The exact date or age when this word was fully corrupted into the English language is unknown, but we can all assume that, in the early beginnings of the word, it was used to connote sexual intercourse between two people.
However, it can be noted that FUCK is the only word that can be used in the most parts of speech known to man, especially in modern times.
If used as a transitive verb: “Adam FUCKS Eve.”
If used as an intransitive verb: “Eve FUCKS.”
If used as a noun: “Stay away, FUCKER!”
If used as an adjective: “Ryan’s doing all the FUCKING work!”
If used as an adverb for a verb: “I’m trying to FUCKING sleep!”

If somebody told you that you’re ugly and you reply by shouting “FUCK YOU!” with a smile, it can mean that you agree with him, but saying it with a frown and a raised fist can mean aggression. If somebody proposed his/her love to you, and you frown and say “FUCK YOU!”, it’s connotes disbelief. If you reply an “I love you” with a smiling “FUCK YOU!”, it’s already as good as “I love you too!” The power of the word FUCK even transcends racial and class boundaries, because you can use it on anyone regardless of race, color, gender or orientation. Just one use of the word FUCK and everybody will automatically know what kind of person you are and how you were raised. With all this said, let us not be afraid of the ‘F’ word.
Not many words exist with the same tenacity and the same power. Therefore, we must shine in pride, as the existence of the word FUCK simply means that we are near to perfecting our language and human communication in general. It is a known fact that scholarships are awarded to the youth of the country, who can't afford further education, be it locally or abroad...
However, you will be suprise that most scholarship nowadays are even awarded to those with parents carrying the Dato title around...
Shame, shame... !!! :-(
Financial background is hardly a criteria nowadays...
Most 'rich' parents would love their children to obtain scholarships so that their 'fund' (which is originally allocated for their children education... ) can be diverted into other investments...
Don't ask me what 'INVESTMENTS'... I wouldn't know... I ain't rich !!!
In fact...
I believe that the 'Raja' word in front of my name is more of a curse than a privillege....
The public mentality often relates royalty with wealth...

This reminded me of an event that took place during the TOP 50 SPM dinner...
A man from the audience was commenting that the panel on stage was basically made out of parents from a wealthy background... whereas, parents coming from rural areas were mearly guests and were not allowed to share their experinces on how they raised their children...
He said, and I quote ...
" Yang ada di atas tu, semuanya ibu bapa yang anaknya diberi pendidkan sempurna, termasuklah tuisyen dan kelas tambahan. Sepatutnya, Kementerian haruslah berbangga dengan murid2 yang, walaupun tidaklah mendapat sampai 15 A1 , telah bejaya mendapat keputusan cemerlang walaupun dikelilingi persekitaran yang sukar bagi mereka !!! Yang ada di atas, professor madiya, doktor,dan guru besar yang hanya ingin mempromosikan kehebatan sekolah2 mereka... Ok...
So recently...
i decided to take my dad's car out for a drive...
It's been a while since I drove...
So... I had a lot of revising to do...
BIG MISTAKE... !!!
I drove my dad's car ( a HONDA JAZZ ) out to a shopping complex ( the name is kept confidential so that I won't get in trouble) and decided to park beside a green PROTON...
Oh boy... I thought that I was parking fine until...
I heard a screeching sort of sound coming from the side of my car...
It didn't bother me at first... but I decided to check it out anyways...
AH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a total mess !!!!
CALAR GILA !!!!
The PROTON's paint job came out and there were tons of white-silver lines all around a certain spot on the car !!!
Worst still... My JAZZ was in the same condition...
So what was a person like me to do...
Hmmmm....
Run????
You figure that out...
Oh and that same day.. I discovered that the paint job for most of the PROTON cars are lousy and horrible !!!
The PROTON's green paint came off and stuck to my car...
All I had to do was scrape the alien paint from my car and the JAZZ looked like nothing had happened to it !!!
Except, of course, for a few dark 'scars'... but aside form that.... nothing more !!!

OH MY GOD !!!
If you watched TV 1 today ( which I doubt many of you would... ), there was a debate about whether or not SEPET and GUBRA are both a disgrace to the M'sian Film Industry and should not be shown publically...
BULL SHIT !!!
The narrow-mindeness of the public is extremely clear now...
To me... the film was simply potraying the truth...
Among the 'PROBLEMS' highlighted was the Muslim man patting a dog on the way to the mosque...
Most people don't understand that malays are actually allowed to touch dogs if they are 'dry'...
It's kind of hard to explain but.. the muslim man's actions were clearly... in this case... legal.
Aside from that... The 'NUDE PATIENT' scene was also being mocked...
I believed it was simply humour.. and nothing more... it wasn't a clear attack on any race or religion what so ever...
And there was an argument about the prostitutes who were living next door to the village 'bilal' (religious guy of sorts... )... They were saying that such scenarios weren't proper because, living in an Islamic Country... it should only be appropriate that the 'bilal' advise the next-door prostitutes to stop what they are doing.. and in the movie... he did not... meaning that he was a disgrace to the Islamic community...
PEOPLE... STOP THINKING TO NARROWLY... !!!
Yasmin ( the director ) was simply potraying the reality of the situation...

TONS OF THINGS HAPPENED YESTERDAY...
After skating... we went for dinner at Chili's...
On the way there I sang...

Well... then... we arrived at Chili's all hungry... and there we're like 15 people all together...
There wasn't enough space... so the 4 of us ( Aizat, Julian, Joshua and me ) decided to sit somewhere else but close to the others...

YESTERDAY....
The best day of my life !!!
I learned to skate... and I never knew I could do it !!!
Most of the time, I would imagine the ice breaking into half (like the ship in Titanic !!!) the moment I stepped into the ice ring.... but luckily it didn't happen... haha...
My parents we're like... " You better don't skate ah... If you fall and break your ankle... you tanggung !!! "
My first attempt on the ring... I was holding on to the side of the ring... and people like DENA and AIZAT we're purposely blocking my way when I was trying to retreat... IDIOTS !!!
My first fall??? Haha... it happened like this...
This big sized guy was 'gliding' towards me while holding the side of the ring... and we we're like next to each other... He then told me to move... which I refused to do... so he decided to overtake me... GOD must have hated me... cause the moment he was right at the back of me... he slipped... and tried to regain balance by holding on to my shoulder... to no avail.. and pulled me back together with him... causing me to fall!!!
Instead of cursing him... I would like to take this opportunity to THANK him...
If it wasn't for him.. I would have still been afraid to fall... and I wouldn't have enjoyed myself...
After the fall... I was going into the ring continuously... FALLING BOTH BACK AND FRONT IN VARIOUS POSITIONS !!! ( sounds wierd... )

I met an old friend during a dinner function celebrating top SPM achievers...

Since there's nothing else to write... allow me to reminisce about the past...
I was writing my opinion for The Star that day regarding about the whole ' SPM A craze' recently...
Somehow it never appeared in the papers...
Maybe it was because...

My English was really bad that they didn't want to waste their time correcting every grammatical error...
It was to long, and they didn't have enough space in the papers...
It was so conflicting that they decided not to show it in the papers... due to fear of being banned just like The Sarawak Tribune...
It wasn't interesting enough !!!

But anyways... here it is...

I am a post-SPM student and I would like to share my point of view regarding the sudden craze about A's among students.
Quite frankly, I am upset and dissapointed by the type of students being groomed up by our Malaysian schools. I had just recently attended a dinner held this week, awarding top achieving students in the whole country. From the many conversation I had with my fellow friends there, I was shocked to hear about a few things. Among the many matters brought up includes the amount of scholarship recievers. Most straight 1A's student who excelled well in their 13 - 15 subjects were offered scholarships straight away, while other 1A's student, who took 10 - 12 subjects, were still waiting for their applications to be looked and analyse by scholarship giving companies and departments. This made me ponder whether the chances of obtaining a scholarship depends on the number of subjects one takes. As a science student myself, I believe that it is quality, and not quantity that should determine whether or not a scholarship should be given.
Aside from that, I was also stunned to hear that most science student taking additional subjects during their SPM had taken General Science to add to their list of 1A's. Eventhough these students are already taking up subjects like Physics, Biology and Chemistry, they continue to be 'greedy' by taking up General Science, eventhough the fact of the matter is that General Science is indeed a summary of sorts for all the 3 main science subject. Again, I am forced to conclude that such acts are made on thye basis of greed and glory, which unfortunately is what the Government is encouraging.
Last, but not least, there were talks about students taking up subjects unnecessarily. I had a friend who was taking up subjects like Geography and Tassawur Islam, eventhough she had already set her mind on pursuing medicine. To her, taking up these subjects were like buying 'insurance' for herself so that she would never run out of options. However I believe that such actions is only driven by greed.
As a conclusion, I would like to suggest that the Education Ministry limit the number of subjects allowed to be taken by SPM students ( especially the science stream students. ) so that the quality of our youth does not suffer extinction. News about Additional Mathematics passing marks reaching a rock bottom 11 % only further damages the country's image.
